Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’s’ epic win against SLB’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’

Two big giants fight it out on box-office is not something we come across every day. December 18 is considered to be one such extraordinary day, as two big-budget films ‘Dilwale‘ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ are set to release on same day. But guess what it seems that Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ has already won this battle. Read on to know why?

According to the recent reports, A court case was filed by Eros International the distributors of “Bajirao Mastani” against the single screen owners who had gone back on their contract in the court. The distributors had signed a contract with the owners of the single screen theaters that they will be screening only “Bajirao Mastani” for at least the first one week of its release. The theater owners on their part fearing a loss if the historic romance failed to ring the bells at the box-office decided to play safe by screening ‘Dilwale’ too.

To counteract the charges of the distributors, exhibitors too moved the court. The case was heard at a Bombay sessions court and the court has ruled in the favor of the exhibitors. Now the single screen owners are free to allocate screens for Dilwale.

With the first win under their belt, ‘Dilwale’ moves forward in the race of Box Office collections against ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
