Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ postponed to 2017 for release?

For a long time, it was said that Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees‘ will be clashing at the box office with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’. But looks like Shah Rukh Khan does not wish to clash with his good friend on Eid. The Badshah is now on the lookout for a new release date for his film. He aspires to release his film on a festive date, but most of them have been booked in advance.

Sources said, “Shah Rukh is looking to postpone his film to 2017. He wants the date, January 26. But there is another film on that date – Hrithik Roshan’s home production ‘Kaabil’, directed by Sanjay Gupta. SRK has had a word with the Roshans. There are not many choices left. And he cannot indefinitely postpone the film. He has to take a call soon.”

Sources added, “Earlier, Shah Rukh considered July date, but as Varun Dhawan’s film ‘Dishoom’ too is releasing in that month, Khan changed his mind. Later there were rumours about how King Khan is looking at a Christmas release as Aamir’s ‘Dangal’ was planning to move from that slot to the Republic Day weekend. But now, with ‘Dangal’ releasing in December, SRK has no option but to move to January 2017.”
