Now, ‘Kabir Singh’ has met with some criticism for being a violent romance. Responding to such accusations, Shahid said in an interview with The Indian Express, “You think I haven’t seen enough of those? I had ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Udta Punjab’ back-to-back, so you can imagine how that must’ve been. It’s a movie. It’s not real life. So, people should focus on the wrong things that happen in their life.

In another interview with Mid-Day, he spoke about the film and said, “‘Kabir Singh’ is a phase in everyone’s life. We all (become) self-destructive when we feel like we’ve fallen apart. (One may feel) empathy for him because, in all his misgivings, he is vulnerable. It’s a cathartic journey of a man, and a cautionary tale. It made me feel that I never want to become this person.”

‘Kabir Singh’ is the official remake of Telegu film ‘Arjun Reddy’.
