Shahid Kapoor reveals not being offered ‘exciting’ love stories post Kabir Singh; Kriti Sanon shares she was supposed to work with TBMAUJ co-star 8 years ago!

From Jab We Met, Kismat Konnection and many more movies, Shahid Kapoor has delivered several light-hearted rom-coms and has impressed his fans and followers with the same. Though Kabir Singh also was an intense love story, the film had become the talk of town for several reasons. Now, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are coming up with a light-hearted fun movie titled Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. During the trailer launch event, the actor shared the he did not receive many exciting romantic movies after Kabir Singh.

Shahid Kapoor confesses he did not receive exciting romantic movies after Kabir Singh

Shahid Kapoor was last seen playing gritty and dark roles in Farzi and Bloddy Daddy. While on the contrary, the actor hopped back onto a fun role in the upcoming movie. During the trailer launch event, the actor was asked if it was a conscious decision to be back in the comedy romantic genre.

Responding to this, Shahid said, “I have been missing doing something light and fun. But honestly, it is the most difficult genre to crack. I listen to ten scripts a month. People don’t know that, but there is so much to hear. I know people tell me ‘aur picture karo (do more films)’, but it is so difficult to find scripts that you feel that you are going to offer the audience something new.“

He stated, “Post Kabir Singh, I didn’t hear anything that was exciting. Then popped in this film, and I was like, this is it. We have to tell a love story that hasn’t been told before. Will people like it, or not like it, will they accept it, not accept it, that’s the journey as an artiste, as a creative person that you have to take.”

Kriti Sanon on working with Shahid Kapoor 8 years ago

During the same event, Kriti Sanon revealed she was supposed to work with Shahid Kapoor 8 years ago. She shared that she had been dying to do a romantic film. Kriti says, “We (she and Shahid Kapoor) were supposed to work together about like 8 years ago and it didn’t happen. I think there is right timing for everything and this film (Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya) does full justice.”

Shahid further expressed that love stories are particularly demanding. He is of the opinion that Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya addressed the question of bringing novelty to love. The actor also reflected on his role in Kabir Singh. He stated that the character was new to him and it presented a shocking but a fresh perspective to relationship.

Speaking of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, it marks Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s first team-up. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya trailer perfectly blends comedy, romance and light heartedness. The movie is all set to release in cinemas on 9th February 2024.
