On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Shahid Kapoor shared the first look and release date of his cop thriller drama. The actor will play a rebellious cop and we just can't get over his look.

Shahid Kapoor is all set to essay the role of a cop in Rosshan Andrrews cop drama thriller titled Deva. The movie also stars Pooja Hegde and has gone on floors. Sharing a glimpse from the muhurat shoot, the actor announced the release date of the movie. To note, Shahid has earlier essayed the role of cop in Phata Poster Nikla Hero and this will be his second outing.

In the first look poster, Shahid is seen exuding swag and looks exciting in the cop look with cool shades and gun in his hand. Sharing a first look and announcing the release date, he wrote, “DEVA in theatres on Dussehra 11th October 2024.” While Pooja Hegde shared, “Brace yourselves for the fearless #DEVA, releasing in cinemas 11.10.2024 – Dussehra 2024.”

About the movie

The movie was earlier titled Koi Shaq and was touted to be a remake of the Malayalam film Mumbai Police. However, it was later clarified that this story is different. The directed by Rosshan Andrrews is backed by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films. The film is about a brilliant yet rebellious police officer investigating a high-profile case. As he delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of deceit and betrayal, leading him down a thrilling and dangerous path.

Shahid Kapoor in Deva

Talking about the film, Shahid said in a statement, “It’s rare to find a subject that has action, thrill, drama and suspense all packed into one script and I am really looking forward to this. Rosshan Andrrews is a veteran filmmaker whose Malayalam filmography is spectacular. We have spent many months together now and it will be a pleasure to work with such a fantastic cinematic mind. I can’t wait to bring this exhilarating, entertaining and thrilling story to the masses.“

To note, the movie will mark Shahid and Pooja’s first collaboration. On the work front, the actor has a yet-untitled romantic drama with Kriti Sanon which will release in February 2024.
