Actor Shahid Kapoor who is currently basking in praises for his recently released series Farzi spoke about the Jersey failure in a recent interview. The actor said that he was heartbroken with the fate of the film and felt that the universe was unkind towards Jersey, also starring Mrunal Thakur. Moreover, Shahid also felt that there’s a certain time when a movie needs to be consumed and due to the pandemic, the film suffered.
Shahid Kapoor on Jersey failure:
“It just broke my heart. It was a really beautiful film and I feel the universe was not kind to us. The songs were out, the film was pushed for four months. The universe was not kind. With Jersey I realised that films are like fast food, one has to consume it at that moment. If you wait, uska mazaa chala jaata hai. We haven’t ever faced such a scenario, a pandemic, so we didn’t know how to go about it. And unfortunately, the film had to suffer,” the Farzi actor told indianexpress.com.
Shahid further said, “I also feel that we didn’t do justice to the film. We could have made better choices. I don’t know, some things are meant to be a certain way. Even when you have control over things, there’s sometimes no control.”
Shahid Kapoor Farzi 2:
Meanwhile, only recently, Shahid Kapoor confirmed that Farzi will have season 2. He told during an event, “I am sure there will be a Farzi season 2, but these things take time. It takes one-and-a-half to two years for post-production alone with the series being dubbed in 35-40 languages and getting released in over 200 countries. When the shoot happens, it will take a further two years for release. So, I think there are still around two years left for the release of Farzi 2.”
On the professional front, Mr Kapoor will be next seen in Bloody Daddy and an Untitled romantic comedy with Kriti Sanon.
