Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project ‘Padmavati’ is a lot in talks, thanks to the backlash it is receiving. Though the trailer has managed to enthrall everyone, organisations working to retain Rajputana glory, seem to have a problem with this film. They have claimed that this film distorts the history and has shown Rajputs in bad light. Apparently, a scene showcasing romance between Queen Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji in the film has irked the leaders. Though time and again the makers have claimed that there is no such scene in the film, organisations are sending threats to them.

Just yesterday, we had Deepika Padukone condemning the act of these so-called caretakers of history destroying a work of art (a rangoli made by a man showcasing Deepika’s look from the film), because they are against this film. Now, Shahid Kapoor too has  commented on the incident. At Jio MAMI Festival, Shahid was asked to comment on the backlash that this film is receiving, to which he said, “All I can say is that we are ready to release the film on December 1. I really feel it’s a film that everybody will be proud of because it celebrates India, our culture and what we stand for. It shows everybody who is from this country in the most amazing light and that is the endeavour of this film. I feel people will truly see that when they will watch the film.”

Further adding, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali (the director) and everybody who is at the helm of affairs, need us to not really comment on it because we need to contain the situation.”

We just hope that the film gets a smooth release in December.
