Bollywood superstar Shahid Kapoor, after receiving critical acclaim for his last release ‘Padmaavat’, is on a roll. The actor has not only wrapped the shoot of Shree Narayan Singh’s upcoming movie ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ but has also bagged the Hindi remake of hit Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’. And it is now being reported that he has signed a multi-crore deal with a top studio.
Shahid Kapoor has managed to sign a three-movie deal with Zee Studios at a time when production houses are not too keen on making such long-term commitments with any actor. The production house, which just released ‘Dhadak’, will work on their projects with the actor in the next few years.
As per sources, “This deal means that the studio has invested in who it sees to be a potential superstar. The amount paid to the actor will increase as he completes each of the three films. From Shahid’s point of view, it’s a win. He charged `12 crore for his last film, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, and this three-film deal consolidates his position among the lot of rising superstars including Ranbir Kapoor and Varun Dhawan.”
Details regarding his deal with Zee are likely to be announced soon. Well, we will have to wait for the final announcement and what the powerhouse actor will bring to the big screens.
On the personal front, Shahid Kapoor and his lovely wife Mira Rajput are awaiting the birth of their second child. They have also reportedly booked a duplex in one of Mumbai’s lucrative location.
