Shakuntala Devi biopic: Sanya Malhotra roped in to play Vidya Balan’s daughter?

Power-house performer Vidya Balan was last seen in Suresh Triveni’s ‘Tumhari Sulu’. Post that, the actress has taken up ‘Mission Mangal’ which is being helmed by Jagan Shakti. For quite some time now, reports of Vidya being signed for the mathematician Shakuntala Devi’s biopic has been doing the rounds. And the latest buzz suggests that ‘Dangal’ girl Sanya Malhotra might play Vidya’s daughter in the film.

A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror that Sanya is yet to sign the project. However, she has liked the story and is keen on sharing screen space with one of her all-time favourite actresses Vidya Balan. Sanya will be playing Anupama Banerjee in the film. Shakuntala Devi was an Indian writer and a mental calculator, who was popularly known as the ‘Human Computer’. She wrote a number of books on mathematics, puzzles and astrology. She also holds a place in ‘The Guinness Book of World Records’.

The biopic will be helmed by Anu Menon, whereas  Ronnie Screwvala will be producing it. As there has been no official announcement about this biopic yet, so all we can do is wait and watch. However, it would be really very nice to see Vidya and Sanya share screen space. Don’t you guys agree?
