Shamita Shetty’s driver abused and beaten up in a road rage

Actress Shamita Shetty and her driver were embroiled in a road rage incident on Tuesday. Shamita’s driver was allegedly beaten up by few unknown people in Thane. Reportedly, a car rammed into the actress’ vehicle from behind. Post which, she was verbally abused and her driver was manhandled.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the entire incident took place on Tuesday evening near Viviana Mall in Thane. A case has been registered by the actress and the police are now trying to trace the accused based on CCTV footage.

A police official from Rabodi Police station told the tabloid, “When they had reached the Cadbury bridge, her car was dashed by another car from behind. Later, the other driver cornered the actor’s vehicle and forced them to stop near Viviana Mall.”

Shamita’s driver Darshan Sawant, who has been working for her since last few years, was assaulted by the driver of the other vehicle. Sawant, fortunately, noted down the car’s number and he went to the nearest police station to file a complaint.  A case has been registered under sections 279, 323, 504, 506, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal code.

Shamita is actress Shilpa Shetty’s younger sister and she is currently seen in the TV reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 9’.
