‘Shamshera’ First Look: Ranbir Kapoor goes unrecognisable in his bearded avatar

Bollywood’s heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has taken the internet by storm as his look from his upcoming film ‘Shamshera’ has been leaked. Ranbir’s fans can’t stop gushing about how different he is looking in these leaked on-the-sets pictures. Ranbir is almost unrecognisable in his ‘Shamshera’ avatar.

Ranbir looks at his rugged best as his look from his next project ‘Shamshera’ has been breaking the internet. The actor is all beefed up for his character in this action-adventure.

In the leaked pictures that have surfaced online, the actor can be seen sporting a heavy beard and is flanked by several junior artistes. He was seen wearing a Khadi vest that was paired with a white dhoti and a bandana tied on his head.

In the shot, it looked like he was leading a bunch of villagers as they all stood behind him.

Earlier in an interview with PTI, speaking about ‘Shamshera’ Ranbir had said, “Shamshera is not a story of a ‘daaku’, but a film based in the 1800s, it is about a dacoit tribe who are fighting for their right and independence from the British. There was a great story of heroism, a story rooted in our country which actually happened back then.”

Ranbir went on to add that this film is a departure from all the films he has done so far. It is not the coming-of-age lover boy roles which he usually does. According to him ‘Shamshera’ is in the aspirational space, the space of true, badass commercial cinema.

Earlier, a teaser of ‘Shamshera’ was released by Yash Raj Film under whose banner the movie will be releasing. Directed by Karan Malhotra, ‘Shamshera’ also stars Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Ashutosh Rana and Aahana Kumra in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 31, 2020.
