Shanaya Kapoor to headline Student Of The Year 3, but there’s a twist- Reports

Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor is all set to foray in the showbiz industry. She will make her pan-India debut with Vrushabha alongside popular South star Mohanlal. The film was announced earlier this month. Now, a big update around her acting career is doing rounds on the internet. As per latest reports, Shanaya Kapoor will star in Student Of The Year 3, but there’s a twist to it.

Earlier it was announced that Shanaya Kapoor will make her debut with Bedhadak, produced by Karan Johar. It also stars Lakshay Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada and is directed by Shashank Khaitan. However, there have been no development on the film for a while. Now, as per latest reports, the two will collaborate for Karan’s popular franchise Student Of The Year for its third part. But, there is a twist to it as the film series is being turned into a web show.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Karan Johar is turning the ‘Student Of The Year’ movie franchise into a web series along with Disney+ Hotstar. A source told the portal that the film is at the scripting stage and will go on floors in the last quarter of the year. However, the storyline and other elements are kept under wraps. The director for the show will be chosen within a month.

Karan Johar’s high school drama Student Of The Year released in 2012 and marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. The film got a sequel seven years later with Student of the Year 2 (SOTY 2). It launched Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria into films alongside Tiger Shroff.

Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal’s upcoming film Vrushabha will mark Shanaya’s first pan-Indian movie. The flick will be bankrolled by Ektaa R Kapoor. It will also star Zahrah S Khan and Telugu actor Roshann Meka.

Excited about her pan-India debut, Shanaya’s uncle Anil Kapoor took to his Instagram and wrote, “This is the beginning like no other, and we are so incredibly happy to witness your dreams turning into reality. May this project be the first of many remarkable achievements in your shining career. We believe in you wholeheartedly, and we couldn’t be more proud!
