Alia Bhatt has been unstoppable from the moment she entered in the film industry. Delivering back-to-back hits in her decade-long career, the ‘Raazi’ actress has etched a special place in everyone’s hearts with her brilliant acting skills. And it is not just us who feel that Alia is here to stay, veteran actress and Saif Ali Khan’s mother Sharmila Tagore, too, has a similar kind of thought.
Penning down the same as a column in Outlook Magazine, Tagore mentions how the ‘Student Of The Year’ actress has managed to balance with both commercial and critically acclaimed films. In her column, she also highlights that Alia has been successful because of her willingness to take risks and work on subjects that speak to different generations and are contemporary.
The yesteryear actress also lauds Alia for her performance in ‘Raazi’ and points out how a film made by a woman without an item number and against the national sentiment grossed Rs. 100 crores at the box office. Furthermore, addressing the hot topic of Bollywood, nepotism, Sharmila states though naming Alia as a game changer may sound like promoting nepotism, but, the ‘SOTY’ actress has gone beyond the crutches of her lineage.
Concluding her column for Outlook, the ‘Amar Prem’ actress writes, “If there’s one aspect of Alia I wish we could all emulate, it’s her ability to laugh at herself. It’s what makes her truly special and adds to her appeal as an everywoman.”
