Shatrughan Sinha expresses happiness as daughter Sonakshi Sinha gets married to Zaheer Iqbal, says, “Unki jodi salamat rahe”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are now husband and wife as they finally got married on 23^rd June. The couple tied the knot in the presence of close friends and family members. Following the civil marriage, the couple hosted a grand reception at Bastian in Dadar. The glimpse of their wedding and reception part is out and it only speaks volumes of their happiness and love. Amid all this, Sonakshi Sinha’s dad Shatrughan Sinha has congratulated her for her wedding with Zaheer.

When asked about his happiness, Shatrughan Sinha told Times Now, “Yeh bhi koi poochne ki baat hai? (Is this even a question to ask?) Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe (May their union remain blessed).”The actor continued, “44 years ago, I married a very successful, very beautiful, very talented girl of his choice, Poonam Sinha. Now it is Sonakshi’s turn to marry the boy of her choice.”

Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal shares first pics after getting married

Both Sonakshi and Zaheer took to their Instagram handles to share wedding first photos. The couple was dressed in matching off-white outfits — while Sonakshi opted for a beautiful saree, Zaheer was in a kurta. “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever,” the couple captioned the photos.

For those unversed, their civil marriage occurred at Sonakshi’s apartment in Bandra. After this the couple made their first appearance at their reception bash at Bastian. The inside pics of grand party is out and the newlyweds are seen dancing their hearts out. Talking about the couple’s pre-wedding festivities, they hosted an indoor party for friends and family on June 20. A mehendi ceremony on June 21 followed it. on 22nd June, Poonam Sinha organised a Pooja at her residence Ramayana where the Heeramandi actress looked elegant in blue attire.
