Shatrughan Sinha to not attend Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding? ‘Mama’ Pahlaj Nihalani reveals, “She is his laadli”

With less than a week left until Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal register their marriage, the lovebirds are in the news for a number of reasons. While pictures of their bachelor parties went viral on social media this morning, the actress’ ‘mama’ Pahlaj Nihalani has now opened up about the tension between Shatrughan Sinha and Sona.

For the unversed, Shatrughan recently commented on Sonakshi’s wedding, saying, “I am being asked by people close to me why I am not aware of this (the supposed wedding), and the media is aware of it. All I can say is, aaj kal ke bachche consent nahin lete maa-baap ke, sirf inform karte hain. We are waiting to be informed.”

Pahlaj Nihalani on Shatrughan Sinha being upset with Sonakshi Sinha

During a recent interaction with Times Now, Pahlaj Nihalani revealed that Shatrughan Sinha is upset with Sonakshi Sinha because of her upcoming marriage. Adding that the ‘Kalicharan’ actor won’t stay angry for long and will attend Sona’s wedding, the former CBFC Chairman said, “Ha, but he can’t remain upset for long, not with Sonakshi. She is his laadli (favourite). Shaadi nahin attend karne ka koi sawaal hi nahi paida hota. (Not attending the wedding is out of the question).”

He continued, “As Shatruji said to you, aaj kal he bachche inform karte hain, permission nahin lete (Today’s kids don’t ask permission, they inform their parents). Why should he be upset if Sonakshi is marrying the boy of her choice? Shatruji himself married a girl of his choice forty years ago. Even I chose my own life partner when I married my wife. One should not have unrealistic expectations from one’s children.”

Pahlaj defends Shatrughan

Defending Shatrughan Sinha’s initial reaction to Sonakshi Sinha’s marriage news, Pahlaj Nihalani said, “You must have spoken to him when he was out of Mumbai for almost three months due to elections. Bhabhiji must have known. She must have decided to tell him about it (the marriage) after his return. Now he is back in Mumbai and all is well between Sonakshi and her family.”
