Talking about Shefali’s role in Darlings, she essayed the role of Shamshunissa “Shamshu” Ansari. She played Alia Bhatt’s mother in the film. Recently, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shefali opened up about her chemistry with Alia.
The actress told us, “It’s great, particularly because Shamshu and Badru share a very very close and tight bond. Also, Alia and me share a great chemistry which shows on camera. There are a lot of things we don’t even say to each other and it’s understood. There are things that we’ve done that we didn’t choreograph it, but it just happened same time, same moment. We’ve both done the same thing so it’s great and the closeness like they’re really close. Also I, as a person, am very protective and I’m a fiercely protective mother when it comes to my kids and or to kids so it just comes naturally to me but it was great fun.”
On the other hand, Bollywood Bubble gave Darlings also starring Vijay Varma and Roshan Matthew 3.5 stars. A part of the review read, “Darlings is a one-time watch which is laced with dark humour. Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah give out a statutory warning that violence against women is injurious to health. It shows that violence against women will only lead to your destruction.”
