Everyone is shocked and heartbroken by the sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor died by suicide at his Mumbai residence. He was found dead in his bedroom. Reports state that he was suffering from depression for six months and was on medication. His close friend, Mahesh Shetty said in a statement to police that last time he spoke to him, Sushant said that he had stopped taking his antidepressant pills for the past few days.

Post Sushant’s death, many celebs have come forward to urge people to speak about mental health and talk when they feel depressed or sad. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has mourned the death of Sushant. He wrote in his tweet that Sushant used to weep on his shoulder when people used to let him down. “I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours,” he wrote.

Shekhar Kapur was to make ‘Paani’ under Yash Raj Film’s banner, with Sushant Singh Rajput but it didn’t happen.

Sushant had very few friends in the industry. His stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi told ETimes, “As far as I know, he had friends who were from a simple background and they were not the film people. He told me that most of his friends are from his school and college but thodi bahut friendship yahan bhi karni padti hai.”

Sushant’s death is a wake-up call for all the privileged filmmakers who don’t allow the right talent to come up. Even during one of the IIFA Awards, Sushant said, “Well, yes nepotism is there and it’s everywhere. It’s just not in Bollywood. So yeah, you can’t do anything about it but yes… Nepotism can co-exist and nothing would happen. But at the same time, if you deliberately don’t allow right talent to come up, then there is a problem. Then the whole structure of the industry would collapse one day.”
