A few months back shoots in Mumbai kickstarted after Maharashtra government came up with a new set of guidelies. According to the guidelines, children below the age of 10 and senior actors above the age of 65 were not allowed on the sets. People with this age limit is said to have a high risk of contracting the virus.
As per a report by ANI, the Bombay High Court has now allowed all people above 65 years of age associated with the entertainment industry to resume work on the sets of films and TV shows.
Recently, we spoke to Shekhar Suman regarding the Maharashtra government’s prohibition on this age group to resume shoots. He said, “I think it’s for their benefit for the people who are 65. It seems little unfair but it’s for their own protection. They are more vulnerable and susceptible to this disease. So, keeping their health in mind, the government has taken the right decision. It’s just a matter of time and the vaccines are round the corner it’s going to hit the market. Everybody is going to be vaccinated and will be fine, protected, safe and secure.”
“They have to be patient and not react. I do understand the frustration as they are sitting at home for long and now the studios have opened up and they can’t go out, their frustrations are a bit justified but they have to understand the larger context of the picture that what is being done, is for their safety,” he added.
