Since Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Shekhar Suman has been consistently tweeting demanding a CBI probe into the former’s death. Also, he has been saying in many interviews that it is not ‘nepotism’, but the nexus or the syndicate that controls the career graph of successful actors.
Shekhar recently spoke to us where he revealed how the nexus or this movie mafia works in Bollywood. He said, “If you are out on the periphery and blossoming as a star, then the caucus gets very active and tries to induce that talent into that caucus. If he says ‘yes’, he is reduced to the status of ‘yes man’ and then he is bound by an evil contract and he will not be allowed to work outside and the money that you make is actually shared by the producer or the production house that is promoting you. So, in a way, they constrict you from blossoming or opening up as a talent the way you want to be.”
He said, “Sushant was considered for two of Bhansali’s (Sanjay Leela) films but he was stopped. He lost two huge opportunities which probably he would have been in Ranveer’s (Singh) place. Not that Ranveer is less talented.” He further said, “If you are defiant, you are marginalised. Then socially and in the industry circle, you are not acknowledged, recognised, no award comes your way, not invited for parties, film functions and in different functions and shows, they make sure to pull you down. Then you lose your self-esteem and self-respect and probably get into depression.”
