Sherni: Vidya Balan’s next to release on OTT platform; check out first poster

After Shakuntala Devi, Vidya Balan’s next film Sherni will also premiere on an OTT platform. Directed by the talented filmmaker Amit Masurkar and produced by T-Series & Abundantia Entertainment, Sherni stars Vidya Balan in the lead along with a powerful ensemble cast comprising versatile artists such as Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, and Neeraj Kabi. The film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video next month.

Along with the announcement, the makers also released a poster in which Vidya is seen holding a walkie talkie while being captured in a viewfinder.

In Sherni, Balan plays the role of an upright Forest Officer who strives for balance in a world of man-animal conflict. While she also seeks her true calling in a hostile environment. In 2020, Balan’s Shakuntala Devi too released on the same OTT platform and the film had got a good review from most critics. Sherni’s shoot had come to a grinding halt in mid-March last year as the country went into a lockdown owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
