Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra file Rs 50 crore defamation suit against Sherlyn Chopra

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have filed a Rs 50 crore defamation case against the actor, Sherlyn Chopra after issuing her a warning. An official statement on the same has been issued by Shilpa and Raj’s legal team. This comes after Kundra and Shetty’s lawyers issued a statement and warned Chopra that they will seek legal action against her alleged statement. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have now taken action against Chopra. As per reports, the couple is seeking an apology and a massive amount in damages for the “lewd, below the belt” comments Chopra made against the couple on public platforms.

According to a report in the Times of India, the official statement read, “The entire allegations made by Ms Sherlyn Chopra against Mr Raj Kundra and Ms Shilpa Shetty Kundra, are concocted, false, fake, frivolous, baseless, without any evidence, even to Ms Sherlyn Chopra’s knowledge, and have been made with an ulterior motive to defame and extort money.”

The statement further stated that Shilpa Shetty is not involved in the working affairs of JL Stream App. As per the report, the statement further read, “It is nothing but an audacious attempt by Ms Sherlyn to drag Ms Shilpa Shetty’s name to create unwanted controversy and gain media attention. The allegations are nothing but an afterthought, wherein Ms Sherlyn Chopra, is arraigned as an Accused, in C.R. No. 02/2020, Nodal Cyber Police Station“.

The statement further informed that Chopra has committed offences under Sections 499, 550, 389 and 195(A), of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. It continued, “We have complete faith in the Indian Judiciary, and we would be initiating civil/criminal proceedings against Ms. Sherlyn Chopra before the competent court of Law, for Justice. We have put a defamation of Rs 50 crore against Sherlyn Chopra“.

For the unversed, Sherlyn Chopra had filed a sexual harassment case against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. The actress had accused the couple of mentally and sexually harassing her. She even accused Shilpa and Raj of fraud.
