Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra is currently in 14-day judicial custody. He was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch on July 19 for production and distribution of pornographic content via mobile apps. Today, Shilpa has released a statement post her husband’s arrest. She wrote a lengthy note where she stated that the past few days have been challenging and there have been a lot of “rumours and accusations”. She also wrote that she and her family became the victims of trolling and questions.
Shetty further wrote that she has not commented yet and will continue to “refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice”. She requested to stop attributing false quotes on her behalf.
The excerpt from her post read: “Reiterating my philosophy of, as a celebrity “Never complain, never explain”. All I will say is, as it’s an on-going investigation, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police & the Indian judiciary.As a family, we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies. But, till then I humbly request you – especially as a MOTHER – to respect our privacy for my children’s sake and request you to refrain from commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same.”
The Hungama 2 actress further wrote, “I am a proud law-abiding Indian citizen and a hardworking professional for the last 29 years. People have put their faith in ME & I’ve never let anyone down.”
She requested to respect her family’s and her right to privacy in these times as said that they “don’t deserve a media trial”. “Please let the law take its course. Satyamev Jayate!,” she ended her post.

Raj Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
