Shilpa Shetty was trolled for hoisting the Indian flag with her shoes on. The actress responded with facts to shut down the trolls.

Shilpa Shetty was one of the celebrities who wished fans on 77^th Independence Day. The actress celebrated the special day with her family by hoisting the Indian flag. However, she was soon trolled by many for wearing shoes while flag hoisting. Shilpa, who knows how to handle trolls, responded with ‘facts’. She asked netizens not to spread negativity on Independence Day.

A user commented on Shilpa’s post saying, “Aare pair mein ke jute, chappal to nikalo kya etna bhi gyan nahi hekya.” Some users slammed her for not following the ‘rules’.

The actress wrote, “I am aware of the ‘Rules’ of conduct while hoisting the flag, the RESPECT for my country and THE FLAG stems from my heart and not up for questioning. I am a proud Indian. Today’s post was to share and celebrate that emotion. To all the trollers (that I ignore usually) DO NOT appreciate YOU airing your ignorance and spreading negativity on this Day. So get your facts rights and please BACK OFF.”

That’s not all, Shilpa took to her Instagram Stories and shared a screenshot of a Google search, “Can we hosit Indian flag with shoes?” The answer was, “The Flag Code of India does not restrict hoisting of the national flag with shoes on.” She added the hashtag #facts (tricolour emoji).

This isn’t the first time Shilpa has slammed trolls. Back in the past, Shilpa celebrated her son’s birthday at an old age home and distributed sweets and fruits to the senior citizens. However, she was slammed was distributing the ‘cheapest’ fruit (banana). Apart from that, many even called it a ‘publicity stunt’.

Shilpa then gave a befitting reply saying, “It’s sad you think way. Yes, we personally served them a full dinner service after this. I only put it up here for ‘awareness’ so more people can get directed to this cause or contribute to this place that needs help. And like I said, this is tradition for us, our parents have been taking us here for years and I continue that with my child. Broadcasting to show off is never my intent.”
