‘Be your own warrior’: Shilpa Shetty talks of ‘high and low points’ amid husband Raj Kundra’s case

Shilpa Shetty has been going through a very challenging time in her personal life as husband Raj Kundra has been arrested in a porn apps case, but the actor is making sure she remains calm and balanced even as she finds herself surrounded by constant speculation.

Shilpa has said that it’s yoga that she has yet again turned to for strength and positivity. It’s public knowledge that Shilpa is an avid yoga practitioner. In fact, the actor keeps sharing the benefits of yoga with her fans through Instagram videos. On Monday, Shilpa wrote a long Instagram post alongside a video of her practising a few yoga asanas. The actor wrote how she feels empowered doing these asanas. In the video, Shilpa demonstrates Virbhadrasana, which primarily works your lower back muscles, hips, and legs, and improves stamina. And the Malasana helps regulate blood circulation and blood flow to the groin area.

Explaining the benefits of the Virbhadrasana, Shilpa says, “The Virbhadrasana helps strengthen and stretch the thighs, calves, ankles, arms, shoulder, and back muscles. It also improves body posture, focus, balance, stability, and is great for circulation and respiration.”

Talking about the benefits of the Malasana, Shilpa Shetty said, “Malasana opens your hips and groin, stretches your ankles, hamstrings, back, and neck. It also helps improve digestion and improves posture.”

Shilpa Shetty ends the routine with the dynamic hip opener that helps to reduce the tightness in the lower back region as well as the hip region. It also strengthens the hip flexors.

After the arrest of her husband, Shilpa Shetty issued a statement on social media addressing “a lot of unwarranted aspersions” cast by media on her. An excerpt from her statement read: “The past few days have been challenging, on every front. There have been a lot of rumours and accusations. A lot of unwarranted aspersions on me cast by the media and (not so) well-wishers as well. A lot of trolling/questions posed… not only to me but also to my family. MY STAND… I HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf. Reiterating my philosophy of, as a celebrity ‘Never complain, never explain’. All I will say is, as it’s an on-going investigation, I have full faith in the Mumbai Police and the Indian judiciary.”
