Shocking – Shikha Joshi found dead in her apartments

40-year-old model turned actress Shikha Joshi was found dead inside her Versova apartment in Mumbai. She was found lying in a pool of blood with a knife lodged inside her throat in her flat at MHADA’s Rajyog Society on Saturday where she lived with her roommate, investigation officer of Versova police station reported.

It is suspected to be a suicide case. “No suicide note has been recovered so far but primarily it seems to be a case of suicide,” the officer said.

Police said when the actress’ roommate reached the flat and knocked the door, Shikha Joshi, who was inside the flat, asked her to wait and said she will open the door in couple of minutes. But even after a while when Joshi did not open the door, her roommate opened it with her keys and found the actress dead with a sharp knife stabbed into her throat.

Actress’ roommate then rushed her to nearby Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

“Police team was alerted by neighbours in night after which we took the body and sent it for post-mortem. From preliminary investigation, we have learnt that she was under depression,” the officer said.

According to police, Joshi had raked up a controversy in 2011 when alleged molestation by a doctor, who had done her breast implant surgery. Shikha had got breast implant surgery done by the accused doctor in 2006 but after five years, she found a lump in her breast and visited the doctor again, the officer said.

“She had accused the doctor of molesting her by touching her inappropriately,” he added.

The actress has featured in a small role in 2012 film “BA Pass” along side lead actress Shilpa Shukla.
