Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan has bagged his second project which will be helmed by National Award-winning filmmaker Shoojit Sircar. Producer Ronnie Lahiri of Rising Sun Pictures, who will bankroll the movie, took to social media to make the big announcement.
Babil too shared the news on Instagram. Sharing pictures with the Oiku director Shoojit and Ronnie, he wrote, “Honoured to work with you legends ❤️ (aye it’s a shame we didn’t take a picture together @zaynmarie)(sic).”

Apart from the yet-to-be-titled film, Babil also has Netflix’s Qala in his kitty. He wrapped the shoot of the film earlier this year. Directed by Anvitaa Dutt and bankrolled by Anushka Sharma under her production banner Clean Slate Filmz, Qala also stars Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee.
Babil was extremely close to his father Irrfan Khan. His social media handle is filled with posts of the late actor and he often shares anecdotes based on his life. A few days ago, he had shared a couple of pictures of them and accompanied it with an emotional caption that read, “I’ve been working so hard man, wish you were here to witness.”
