Shooting of Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Padman’ starts rolling in Madhya Pradesh

Twinkle Khanna is all set for her debut production venture, ‘Padman’. The movie features Akshay Kumar playing the lead role alongside Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.

‘Padman’ is based on the life of a social entrepreneur, Arunachalam Muruganantham, who took it up to himself to provide low-cost sanitary napkins to women from poor economic states across rural India. (Also Read: Radhika Apte to essay the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife in ‘Padman’?)

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the film because of its unique title and concept and here is a good news for everyone. Reportedly, the shooting of ‘Padman’ has kickstarted in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and the picture from the location was recently shared by cinematographer P. C. Sreeram. Sreeram posted on Instagram a picture from the sets and wrote, “My next journey with Balki starts here. may the force be with us.”

Even though it still isn’t clear if the starcast has arrived on location or not, but the news sure has got us all excited.

Twinkle has had some knowledge on Arunachalam and has also dedicated a chapter ‘The Sanitary Man from a Sacred Land’ to Arunachalam, a school drop-out from Coimbatore in Kerala in her book, ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’.

The film is being helmed by R Balki and is expected to release later this year.
