So, ‘Rock On 2’ stars Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor recently dropped in on the sets of TV show ‘Yaaron Ki Baraat’. The team has been on a promotional spree of late and we were waiting to see their antics. It was all nice, until Shraddha found out that one of the fans present in the show was a guy who has been stalking her for many days now! She admitted to be seeing the fan for the 17th time now.
Just when we thought she would firmly oppose a stranger stalking her almost everywhere, she went on to hug him and thanked him for being so ‘supportive’!
Really? For  a woman like her, armed with security measures and showered with attention wherever she goes, being stalked might feel  sweet or a sign of her growing popularity. But in the same society live hundreds of women, not-so-privileged ones, who have to deal with unnecessary attention and stalking which is potentially harmful. There have been instances when a stalker has even turned out to be a killer. It often leads to sexual (verbal or physical) harrassment as well. Stalking is a legal offence and we already run short of enough awareness about it. In such a backdrop, public figures should just not encourage acts of stalking.
Not at all cool, Shraddha!
