Shraddha Kapoor says the love for Thumkeshwari was a ‘validation’: I was so happy with people’s excitement for Stree 2

Shraddha Kapoor last appeared on the big screen in a full fledged role in 2020 with Baaghi 3. Now, almost exactly 3 years later, she is set to return with the Ranbir Kapoor co-starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. However, she showed a little glimpse of her in between when she made a cameo in Bhediya song Thumkeshwari.

During an interview, Shraddha mentioned that she is quite nervous for her return to the big screen. However, when mentioned about the love she received for Thumkeshwari, she insists it was a shock for her. The audience loved her chemistry with Varun Dhawan and the tease for Stree 2 made them more excited.

Shraddha said, “It was a validation. I was so shocked at that reaction, matlab itna… It felt so overwhelming and I felt so validated. I felt so humbled and I was so happy that people were so excited for Stree 2. If they got so excited in just one song… It was Amar Kaushik’s idea that I will come in the song and they will have me give one Stree look. It was nice to see that excitement.”

Shraddha insisted that she was quite happy with the response to her appearance in Thumkeshwari. It made her belief stronger that people are excited for Stree 2. And when asked about the development on the sequel, she said, “Stree 2 is hopefully going to go on floors very very soon.”

For now, Shraddha is all set for her first time pairing with Ranbir Kapoor in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The duo will make the Holi more colourful this year as they arrive in theatres with the Luv Ranjan directorial on March 8, 2023.
