Shraddha Kapoor is currently busy promoting her upcoming release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. The actress is returning to the screens after 3 years and is equally excited and nervous. While she has become ‘jhoothi’ now as per her film’s character, if there is another role of hers that has been quite iconic, it is Aarohi from Aashiqui 2.
Shraddha Kapoor on Aashiqui 2 and Rockstar crossover
Recently, during an interview, Shraddha Kapoor was pointed out a commonality between her and Ranbir Kapoor. In Aashiqui 2, she played a musician while Ranbir also played one in Rockstar. In both the films, their respective partners passed away by the end.
So, when asked that now since RJ (played by Aditya Roy Kapur) from Aashiqui 2 and Heer (played by Nargis Fakhri) from Rockstar are dead, what if Aarohi and Jordan meet, Shraddha was left quite awestruck. Laughing heartily, she said, “Kya imagination hai aapki? Pehle to ye bahut kamaal ki imagination hai. To get Imtiaz Ali and Mohit Suri to co-direct, imagine that also na. Ye idea to unko batana chahiye humein. (What imagination do you have? It’s amazing. But imagine getting Imtiaz Ali and Mohit Suri to co-direct. We should tell them this idea).”
While the idea fascinated her, Shraddha however doesn’t think anything romantic is possible between Aarohi and Jordan. She said, “I don’t know if Aarohi will ever love again. Good idea, nice try (though).” She also mentioned that Aarohi even took RJ’s surname at the end of Aashiqui 2, so she is completely devoted to RJ.
Shraddha on Aashiqui 2 effect
Coincidentally, this year Aashiqui 2 completes a decade. The film changed the career graph for both Shraddha and Aditya Roy Kapur. When pointed that out, Shraddha was in disbelief that the film has actually completed 10 years. She said, “It does not feel like that. I understand the love for Aarohi and it’s amazing the impact that film has had. The fact that the freshness of it is still existent. And wherever I go, people still call me Aarohi. I have to tell people now ki ab mujhe jhoothi bulao (I have to tell people to now call me Jhoothi). Hopefully after this film, people will call me by this character’s name also.”
Shraddha is truly one of the most loved actresses in this generation. She will soon be seen opposite Ranbir for the first time in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. There is a great buzz around the film and their chemistry already. The Luv Ranjan directorial releases this Holi on March 8, 2023.
