Shraddha Kapoor to replace Nargis Fakhri for Shaukeen remake

Actress Nargis Fakhri walked out of the upcoming remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 hit film, Shaukeen, citing date problems. As she had been offered a role of a secret agent in a Hollywood movie. This had the makers in a tizzy as they had the dates of other actors in place. Now seems like ‘Aashiqui 2’ actress  Shraddha Kapoor is likely to step in to and play the leading role in it.

As per sources, the ­makers are looking for a new leading lady after Nargis walked out citing date issues. The original film revolved around three old men — Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal. In the sequel the roles will be played by Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher — who try to impress a young dancer, Rati Agnihotri – the role that was to be played by Nargis Fakhri earlier but now might be played by Shaddha Kapoor. In the ­original film, Mithun Chakraborty played the role of Rati’s boyfriend. In the remake we have Akshay Kumar who will be stepping into the shoes of Mithun Chakraborty.

Looks like the Kapoor girl is surely going places.
