Shraddha Kapoor to star opposite THIS badminton player in Saina Nehwal biopic

In a latest development regarding ‘Saina’, badminton player and musician Eshan Naqvi would be cast opposite Shraddha Kapoor in the Amol Gupte project. The Saina Nehwal biopic ‘Saina’ went on floors in September.

Interestingly, Eshan has also been coaching the actress as part of her prep for the film since the past few months. In an interview given to Mumbai Mirror, Shraddha said, “I’ve been attending badminton classes daily at 6 am. My coach, Eshan Naqvi, is a young guy but there’s so much to learn from him. He is an amazing coach.”

Shraddha Kapoor has recently been very successful with ‘Stree’ minting crores at the box office. Coincidentally, Saina Nehwal, on whose life the biopic is getting made, will be getting married to fellow badminton player Parupalli Kashyap on December 16. The duo delayed the marriage so that they could focus on their respective careers.

Director Amol Gupte was rather impressed by Eshan and decided to cast him in the role straightaway. Eshan’s music capabilities will also come in handy for the project and it would be interesting to find out how the pairing between an actress and a professional will pan out in a sports biopic.

The report further stated, “Shraddha and Eshan started off shooting for a romantic song composed by Amaal Mallik and choreographed by Vijay Ganguly. The team has been on a short break after she was diagnosed with dengue. They are expected to resume shoot soon and wrap up the song after which they will also start on their scenes.”

On the work front, Shraddha was last seen in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ alongside Shahid Kapoor.
