On February 6, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away after she was under ventilation for several days. She breathed her last on Sunday at the age of 92 due to the failure of multiple organs post COVID-19. After her demise, many celebs took to their social media handles to post their condolence messages and tributes. Now, actor Shraddha Kapoor who is also a distant relative of the late singer is heartbroken with the demise as she penned a heartfelt tribute for her.
Taking to her Instagram, Shraddha shared some priceless throwback pictures with her ‘aaji’ as she captioned it, “I will forever cherish the honour of having shared precious moments with you. Your hand on my head, your warm gaze, your loving words of encouragement. Thank you for your simplicity, divinity, excellence and grace. Truly The Greatest of all time! I You Lata Aaji.”
For the unversed, Shraddha’s late maternal grandfather, singer Pandit Pandharinath Kolhapure, was Lata’s cousin.
Meanwhile, after her demise, two-day national mourning will be observed in the memory of the legendary singer. As a mark of respect to the Bharat Ratna awardee, the National Flag will fly at half-mast for two days. “She came and got admitted as a Covid patient. Covid was treated but due to post-Covid complications she passed away,” said N Santhanam, chief executive officer of Breach Candy Hospital, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Shraddha also attended the funeral which took place in Shivaji Park on Sunday along with Asha Bhosle. Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Anuradha Padwal, Ira Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shankar Mahadevan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Javed Akhtar and many more have attended Lata Mangeshkar funeral.
