Getting into the shoes of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister is no cakewalk. Shraddha Kapoor wants to make sure she does it with enough conviction. The actress earlier visited Nagpada (a neighbourhood in South Mumbai) in a burkha to get the ambience right. This time, she will be meeting a few young girls from Dongri, where Haseena used to stay.
“Shraddha will sport four different looks since the film will throw the spotlight on the different phases of Haseena’s life. So, for the younger portions, the actress has been keenly observing youngsters, including some of her team members who come under that age bracket. She is also planning to meet a few teenage girls from Dongri where Haseena stayed all her life,” a source from ‘Haseena’ unit told Mid-day.
Shraddha has been given a number of references to prepare herself. Those include a few photographs of Haseena that mark her journey from a teenager to a grown-up woman. She is also watching pregnancy videos in order to prep for the phase in the film where Haseena becomes a mother. “As an actor, I get to play different characters and take different journeys through each film. Each journey requires its own preparation; that’s what is exciting and challenging,” Shraddha told the daily.
A few days back, the actress broke out in tears on the set as she was shooting with brother Siddhanth Kapoor (playing Dawood Ibrahim). Looks like she is already into the character!
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is set to release on July 14, 2017.
