Here’s a bad news for all the Shraddha Kapoor fans who were keen on seeing her on the big screen in and as ‘Haseena Parkar’. Well, the movie was earlier slated to hit the screens on July 14, 2017 with ‘Jagga Jasoos’, then it was pushed to July 28, 2017 and was about to clash with ‘Mubarakan’. But, again the release date was changed to August 18, 2017. And now, once again the film has been postponed.
A source was quoted by a tabloid, “The decision to postpone the film was taken last week. Anil Thadani, the producers and director Apoorva Lakhia realised that August was cluttered with too many releases. They realised that ‘Haseena Parkar’ will have to compete with two biggies that are releasing in the weeks before – Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’. What makes it worse is that besides ‘Haseena Parkar’, there are three releases lined up for August 18 – ‘Bareily Ki Barfi’, ‘Newton’ and ‘Partition 1947’.”
“The makers are confident of their film and don’t want it to get lost in the clutter. That’s why they have decided to push the release,” added the source.
Apoorva Lakhia, the director of the film, confirmed the news to a tabloid and stated, “We collectively decided to postpone the film so that it can get enough screens and a worthy run at the box office.” (Also Read: ‘Haseena Parkar’: Siddhanth’s eyes speak volumes in this new still)
Talking to another daily about the same, he said, “There is no point in trying to get into the current clutter of releases. We all can see what is happening to all the films that are coming out. If we came on August 18 we would have Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ behind us. Akshay’s film has tax exemption. Why should we do something as suicidal as to release our film at a time when the competition is not only tough, but impossible to cope with?”
Well, we are now keen to know the new release date of the film. The trailer was launched a few days ago, and it has received a great response. Shraddha’s transformation is something that everyone is talking about.
‘Eat Sleep Bollywood Repeat’ is his life Mantra. Dance is his first love and Rani Mukerji is his eternal crush. He is someone who loves being himself, and as for the ones who don’t agree, his reply? “Talk to my hand!”
