Shravan Rathod’s wife and son also battling COVID; won’t be able to attend his funeral

The pandemic has turned the world into topsy turvy. But the worse is the cases where families are not even able to bid their loved ones a proper goodbye one last time. Music composer Shravan Rathod, of Nadeem-Shravan fame, breathed his last on April 22. The musician was rushed to the hospital after he tested positive for Covid-19. His condition deteriorated and he left for the heavenly adobe on Thursday night.

The 66-year-old music composer’s wife and son are also battling Covid. And unfortunately, they won’t be able to even have his last glimpse before he is cremated.

Shravan’s close friend and veteran lyricist Sameer Anjaan told ETimes, “God knows what lies in store, I have been reduced to half. I spent most of my mornings and evening with Shravan.”

Sharing how Shravan’s wife and son won’t be able to attend his funeral, Sameer told the portal, “What can be worse than this if your nearest and dearest ones cannot be anywhere near you, neither in your last hours nor when you have left the world of living?”

Nadeem Saifi, one half of Nadeem-Shravan, is equally devastated by Shravan’s demise. Speaking about his friend’s tragic demise, Nadeem told Bombay Times, “My Shanu is no more. We have seen an entire life together. We saw our highs, we saw our lows. We’ve grown up with each other in many ways. We never lost touch and no physical distance could ever separate the two of us. I am in deep pain as I say this but my friend and my companion, my partner of so many years is no more. It has left such a vacuum. I spoke to his son who was inconsolable. We had been in touch on a regular basis for the last several days when Shravan complained of ill-health and had to be moved to a hospital. Shravan’s wife and son are also unwell and are still in the hospital. I am feeling so helpless that I cannot be there physically for them, to help them and bid farewell to my friend.”
