Actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath have made the headlines for all the wrong reasons, as the actors have been charged with cheating and breach of trust in a case registered at Murthal police station in Haryana’s Sonipat district. An FIR has been filed on 22 January, listing the two actors among 13 accused under Sections 316 (2), 318 (2), and 318 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The charges include criminal breach of trust, cheating, and property transfer through deception.

FIR filed against Shreyas Talpade & Alok Nath in cheating case

The FIR has been filed by Vipul Antil, a resident of Sonipat, against the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society, registered in Indore under the Multi-State Cooperative Society Act, 2002. Since, September 16, 2016, the society has been active in several states, including Haryana.

Ajeet Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP), Murthal, stated in The Print, “The main complaint is against the society that is alleged to have duped people of their money by luring them to invest. We will have to investigate what role, if any, is ascribed to Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath.”

Allegedly, the society used a multi-level marketing strategy to provide FD and RD plans with high return guarantees, providing agents with incentives to attract new investors.

On the work front, Shreyas Talpade was last seen in Kangana Ranaut’s directorial, Emergency. The film also starred Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, Anupam Kher, the late actor Satish Kaushik, Vishak Nair, and others, with a screenplay penned by Ritesh Shah.

Alok Nath is well known for his contribution to 300 films in his career. He stepped into the filmland in 1982 and played many roles from small screen to big screen.
