In all the past editions of ‘Golmaal’ franchise, what rightly tickled our funny bones was the diversity of characters. One such character was of Shreyas Talpade. Laxman Prasad Apte, as we know him, would continuously stammer, that too at the most critical situations! He made us laugh and how…
Moving on, Rohit Shetty is all set to release ‘Golmaal Again’, the franchise’s fourth part with a bang. While most of the original actors are retained, there are slight changes too. Instead of Kareena Kapoor Khan, this one will have Parineeti Chopra donning the leading lady’s hat. Apart from that, there is another change. Shreyas isn’t going to stammer anymore. The team which is presently shooting at Hyderabad, had a press meet. It was there that the actor gave how this time around, his character would have a different twist and not stammering as a trait.
“There were certain issues that happened last time because of that stammering thing. Considering all of us are getting extra sensitive about little things… this time, he (his character) is not stammering. There is another quirk to his character. He’s got a slight lisp,” he said.
This, however, got us wondering. Were there certain people who thought the film was making fun of those with stutter problems? Or, given how the CBFC takes objection in every little thing these days, are they trying to be extra cautious?
When quizzed about filmmakers’ frequent tiffs with CBFC these days, Shreyas had an honest answer. “There is no point in getting overtly sensitive about every little thing. Someone told me that in an upcoming film, there is a problem with the word ‘nanga’ (nude). We have been using this word since ages. So suddenly what happened? We shouldn’t be so sensitive about it,” he said.
Given that ‘Golmaal Again’ is a comedy with right dose of actions, it will be less chances of running into trouble with Pahlaj Nihalani and team!
