Shruti Haasan on her parents Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s separation: They were not that beautiful together anymore

Superstar Kamal Haasan and actress Sarika married in the late 80s. Their first child, Shruti Haasan was born in 1986, and Akshara was born to them in 1991. Kamal Haasan and Sarika got divorced in 2004. Kamal Haasan was earlier married to dancer Vani Ganapathy for about ten years but they got divorced in 1988. Kamal was in a relationship with Sarika even before he was legally separated from Vani.

In a recent interview with Zoom Digital, Shruti spoke about her parents’ separation. She said that she was glad they separated as she doesn’t think two people who are not getting along, should be forced to get along for some reason. She also said that they are wonderful parents.

Shruti said that she is “particularly close” to her dad and her mother is a part of their lives as well. “They are both uniquely wonderful and beautiful people,” she added.

She further said, “They were not that beautiful together anymore. That does not take away their individual beauty as human beings. When they separated, I was very young, and it was very simple, they were happier apart than they were together.”

On the work front, Shruti Haasan was last seen with Pawan Kalyan in Vakeel Saab. She will be seen with Baahubali star Prabhas in Salaar.

These days she is spending her lockdown days with her boyfriend Santanu Hazarika. Recently, she shared a collage of photos with him on Instagram and wrote, “Locked down with my bestie @santanu_hazarika_art #thankful #twopaithyams #yumyumfood #creativity #art #talk #happyvibes.”
