Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar’s upcoming film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ has all the reasons to rejoice as it has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Directed by RS Prasanna, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ is the second film after Ajay Devgn’s ‘Baadshaho’ to receive a clean chit, without any cuts from CBFC after Prasoon Joshi took charge.
As per sources, the makers of this film were prepared to receive an A certificate owing to the subject of their film, but much to their delight, the film has been granted a U/A certificate.
Speaking about the same, DNA has quoted Ayushmann saying, “I am so glad we got this all-clear from the CBFC. This just shows that the CBFC is progressive and supports the content of our film, which deals with performance-anxiety among men. When audiences see ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ they’ll realise it’s a very important film.” (Also Read: Ayushmann: Life has come a full circle from a sperm donor to erectile dysfunction)
The film that revolves around the subject of erectile dysfunction in men is slated to hit the screens of September 1, 2017. With this, September 1 seems to be all set for a heavy dose of family entertainment with two films making it to the theatres. ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ and ‘Baadshaho’ both have an edge at the box office. It will be interesting to see who wins the battle at the end. Especially now that the box office seems to be a little stable with ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ doing great business, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ and ‘Baadshaho’ are expected to have a good run at the box office.
