Sidharth and Jacqueline’s kiss in ‘A Gentleman’ gets short

CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has been sacked, but his impressions are still there. Well, one of the last films to be certified under Nihalani’s tenure was Raj & DK’s ‘A Gentleman’, and yes, of course the film has faced the scissors of CBFC.

So, there is a long kiss between Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez in the movie, and CBFC has asked the makers of the film to shorten it.

A source has stated to DNA, “The lead pair’s kiss just went on and on unnecessarily, just like the smooch in the James Bond film and Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. We’ve asked them to take it easy. The film is titled ‘A Gentleman’, but the hero seems to forget his manners while kissing.”

It is said that the original kissing scene is longer than the smooch in Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor-starrer ‘Raja Hindustani’. The makers have been told to cut the kissing sequence short by 70 percent. They were also asked to remove an English-language expletive before getting a ‘U/A’ certificate.

Talking about ‘A Gentleman’, the film is about mistaken identity and hits the screens on August 25, 2017. The movie also stars Suniel Shetty who has a cameo in the movie.

We had met Sidharth a few days ago for an interview, and had asked him whether he has any box office pressure for ‘A Gentleman’ as his last film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ didn’t do well, to which the actor had stated, “Definitely! It’s like a bad day at work or office in a month. You want every film to do well, but for me personally coming from outside, wanted to make it big in the city and when something doesn’t go my way, it just charges me up much more. I think it makes you work much harder that becomes a motivation for your next film. But, I am pretty excited about this release (‘A Gentleman’). Not the pressure, but a little more aggressive.”
