If the latest reports are to be believed filmmaker Rohit Shetty is all set to begin the shoot of his cop universe series that will be streaming on the OTT platform. Reportedly, a few months ago, Rohit was planning a web series which is a cop-based show. It was also said that he was planning to do the same with actor Sidharth Malhotra but during an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, he denied all the rumours. “We are planning a web series; it is a cop-based show but nothing is finalised. There is still a lot of time for that,” the director had told PTI in an interview last year.
Now, the series is all set to begin shooting in Mumbai’s Golden Tobacco factory in Vile Parle as per a Mid-Day report. A source in the know told the website, “After the release of Sooryavanshi, Rohit and his team have been working relentlessly on the script. Considering the OTT universe is filled with cop dramas, he wanted his signature style to reflect in the cop caper. As the showrunner, he wants to present the series in a way that appeals to a global audience.” The reports also mentioned that Sidharth will be starring in the series; however, an official confirmation is yet to be made.
Nevertheless, if he is on board, then Sidharth would be making his OTT debut with this cop series. Plus, this would be the first time where Malhotra will be seen as a cop on the big screen. The show is said to be directed by Sushwanth Prakash, an assistant director with Rohit. The show has eight episodes and will reportedly stream on Amazon Prime Video.
