Tanushree Dutta’s allegations against Nana Patekar has opened a Pandora’s box and a lot of women are coming forward and speaking up against sexual predators. The likes of Vikas Bahl, Alok Nath and Rajat Kapoor have been named and shamed by their victims.
The latest to join the list of men facing the heat because of the #MeToo movement is singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya. A woman called Bodhisattva YaMyoho lashed out on Facebook with accusations against the singer.
In her post, Bodhisattva said that Abhijeet Bhattacharya followed her after she refused to dance with him. “He twists my wrist, pulling me towards him and screaming in my ear, “bitch what do you think of yourself, wait till I teach you a lesson”, almost kissing and nibbling me on my left ear. I pushed him and ran to the DJ console to get him to shut the music down,” she wrote.
To hear such stories again and again is hugely disappointing, but we hope that the movement doesn’t die out soon and more men are named and shamed. It’s certainly shook us all as a lot of people who claimed to be feminists, have turned out to be perpetrators.
We are waiting to hear Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s response to the story.
