Singer Mika Singh’s elder brother Shamsher Singh passes away

Singer Mika Singh’s elder brother Ustam Shamser Singh took his last breathe this morning.

Elder brother of Mika Singh and Daler Mehendi, Shamsher played a crucial part in taking Bhangra to the global stage. Of late, he was seen judging a popular singing reality show for children.

“Mikaji’s brother Ustad Samsher Singhji passed away this morning, in Vedanta hospital in Delhi. mika sir is in Canada right now. Samsher Singhji was suffering from jaundice from last one and a half months, and was hospitalised for the same,” Mika’s spokerperson told Indian Express.

A number of celebrities including actor Gippy Grewal, Harshdeep Kaur and Maniesh Paul mourned the singer’s death.
