After doing socially-relevant films, Akshay now keen to do a comedy movie

Last year, we saw Akshay Kumar in ‘Housefull 3’ which was a slapstick comedy. After that the actor starred in movies like ‘Rustom’, ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ and ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’. His next release will be ‘2.0’ and then he has ‘padman’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Moghul’ in his kitty. Well, all these movies are either serious-dramas or socially-relevant films. However, according to a report in DNA After Hrs, Akshay now wants to do a comedy.

The actor has stated, “I want to do another mad comedy soon. It’s time again. See, I love to balance everything and I don’t just want to do socially-relevant films. That’s not how I want to function but now, I genuinely want to do a nice comedy soon.”

Well, there’s no doubt that Akshay has an impeccable comic timing, and we have loved him in ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise, ‘Housefull’ franchise, etc. We are sure even his fans would love to see him in a comedy flick. (Also Read: SRK, Salman and Akshay make it to the highest paid actors list of 2017)

Akshay is currently going through the best phase in his career. The actor had two releases this year ‘Jolly LLB 2’ and ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’, and both the films did very well at the box office. Not just box office success, but Akshay was also honoured with a National Award this year for his performance in last year’s releases ‘Airlift’ and ‘Rustom’.

His next release is ‘2.0’ which has Rajinikanth in the lead role. Akshay will be seen as an antagonist in the film, and we are sure that he will be one of the highlights of the film. The movie is slated to hit the screens on January 26, 2018. Akshay will also be seen in ‘padman’, which is based on the life of the real life person who created low-cost sanitary napkins for women in village. His wife Twinkle Khanna included a novella on him in her last released work, ‘The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad’.
