Self-proclaimed nun Sofia Hayat is in the headlines again, for the wrongest reason. She has got her feet inked with Swastika, a holy symbol of both Hinduism and Buddhism. Soon after she posted a photo of the same on Instagram, large number of people took serious offence.
While some requested her to take it down as it apparently insults the religious sentiments of many, some also argued that she should be slapped with a legal notice for doing this.
The Swastika symbol, which was believed to be used to point the movement of sun through the sky centuries back, is a sacred symbol in Jainism and Odinism as well. No wonder her gesture which indeed looks insensible, offended so many. (Also Read: Sofia Hayat: Salman Khan does not like women unless they lick his a**)
Albeit, Sofia provided a long justification on the same photo. “A symbol is just a symbol and it is the intent that makes the difference. A scalpel in the hands of a surgeon is a tool in his profession can save a life; while in the hands of a perpetrator is unlawful possession of a weapon, in the eyes of the law, to commit a crime,” she added.
Not sure how many are going to buy the argument. Looks like another controversy is on the way!
