The Mumbai police had stated that the death threat found had warnings for both Salman Khan and father Salim Khan. The chit read “Moose wala jaisa kar dunga”. Recently, Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in his car in Jawaharke Village of Manasa district by unidentified assailants on May 29. According to police, the killing was caused by gang rivalry and what makes the threats against Salman more concerning is that it comes days after Sidhu’s death and uses it as a reference.

According to reports, Salim Khan was on his routine morning walk on the promenade on Sunday, accompanied by his security personnel, when he saw a chit left behind on a bench near which he typically takes a break. The veteran filmmaker soon contacted the police after that and an FIR was registered under section 506-II (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Bandra Police Station.
