Sona Mohapatra hits back at trolls slamming her for wearing a monokini; says,”I refuse to suck in my well-earned belly”

Sona Mohapatra recently posted a bunch of pictures of herself soaking in the sun by the waters in a black monokini. But the internet did not take it well as she was trolled and body shamed for the pictures. The singer did not stay quiet but instead, she hit back saying she refuses to suck in her belly.

She wrote about the #SonaOnTheRocks pics that she had posted a day earlier and that she was shamed by comments like  “wearing slut clothes & then saying #MeToo ?!” she also said that some were let down as they thought she was a different person and did not expect this from her but then she also received a lot of love from her fans. SHe aid she is grateful to all who were writing to her.

She spoke about all the three bunches of people, she wrote, “The first show themselves to the rest of the world & hopefully someone in their life’s will teach them the concept of ‘consent’ & how clothes or lack of them doesn’t justify anyone attacking a woman. The second category of people should throw away any notion of me living up to their idea of a intense, thinking, serious, loving & therefore only khadi or fully covered woman.. your Sanskari’pan or idea of ‘worthy woman’ is not mine, no apologies from me therefore. For the third lot who sent me love, right back at you!! You give me strength everyday (sic).”

She also said that she refuses to fit into a box and she refuses to suck in her ‘well-earned belly’. She wrote, “2020 here I Come!!! I hear the music. I hear a beat. From the universe around. From within. ?? Own your spirit. Own your journey. Own your belly. Don’t suck any of it in.. BE (sic).”
