Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami was recently arrested in a 2018 case of abetment of suicide in which architect and his mother had died by suicide. Arnab’s bail plea was recently turned down by Bombay High Court on November 9.

Slamming people who are justifying Arnab’s bail plea being denied, Sona took to her Twitter account and wrote,All those people smacking their lips, justifying #ArnabGoswami being denied bail & being housed in a jail inhabited by terrorists & underworld goons, please know that you are no different from ‘fascists’. You endorse ‘political vendetta’. That’s sick, 2 wrongs don’t make a right(sic).”

Arnab Goswami was arrested by Mumbai police in connection to 2018 case in which an architect Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik died by suicide over alleged non-payment of dues by Goswami’s Republic TV. The case was filed in Raigad.

Actress Kangana Ranaut had criticised Maharashtra government over Arnab’s arrest. “I want to ask the Maharashtra government that today, you went inside Arnab Goswami’s house, beat him, pulled him by his hair, assaulted him. How many houses will you break? How many throats will you choke, how many people’s hair will your pull and how many voices will you silence? Sonia Sena, how many mouths will you gag? These voices will keep growing. Before us, so many martyrs’ throats were slit, they were hanged for their right to free speech. No matter, you will silence, many others will rise,” Kangana had said in her video message.
