Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi wage war on beauty stereotypes in Double XL trailer

Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi have collaborated for a slice-of-life drama Double XL. The Satram Ramani directorial is all about tackling prejudices around female body types and obsession with weight. The movie also features Zaheer Iqbal and marks the Bollywood debut of cricketer Shikhar Dhawan.

After sharing the posters and rib-tickling teaser that piqued the interest of fans the makers have now unveiled the Double XL trailer and it is a laugh riot.

In the 3-minute Double XL trailer, we see Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi engaged in a fun banter about how size issues are only for women. We also see Shikhar Dhawan walking into a party and asking Huma Qureshi for a dance. But seems like it was just a dream sequence as we next see Huma being woken by her mother.

Double XL explored the journey of two plus-size women, one from heartland Uttar Pradesh and the other from urban New Delhi. Huma plays the role of Rajshree Trivedi from Meerut, who wants to become a well-known sports presenter. Sonakshi Sinha is Saira Khanna from Delhi whose aim in life is to become a fashion designer. Both are facing the problem of being overweight. The movie has them waging a war against the prejudices around female body types and obsession with weight.

Double XL is being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. The film will hit the big screen on November 4, 2022. The movie will clash with Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter’s Phone Bhoot at the box office.
